Peony Yip, también conocida como The White Deer, es una ilustradora que actualmente vive y trabaja en Hong Kong.
Se autodefine como «una persona muy cerrada, lo que significa que no me gusta salir mucho o socializar o beber o fumar o la fiesta.» A esta artista también le interesa la fotografía y podéis ver algunas de sus instantáneas aquí.

 

Nunca se hacia dónde va mi estilo, pero creo que será simple, muy mínimo y siempre conectado con elementos emocionales. El plan a largo plazo es seguir haciendo lo que hago, esperemos que sin presión y sin estrés, y ver dónde me lleva.

En la mayoría de sus obras aparecen animales porque según Peony Yip le relajan: «compensan las cosas estúpidas que hacemos los humanos. Los seres humanos siempre encontramos una manera de llevar la estupidez a otro nivel. Con los animales, todo es más sencillo. Ellos nacen, crecen, se alimentan y se reproducen, lo cual es muy natural. Por eso me gusta «atarlos» a mis dibujos. Es una especie de recordatorio o declaración.»

A Peony Yip le inspiran las personas creativas y aquellas ideas que son subestimadas.
